Oh the innocence of children. If only it would last a lifetime. The "film" in my mind of the waters off Hawaii as you and your grandchildren enjoy the freedom that water allows brightened my otherwise day of sloppy roads, snow turning grimy from the splashing of traffic. Winter in a four season location has its challenges, but we are Canadian and we are resilient to the vagaries of weather patterns.

Sorry to hear of your sloppy roads — and what a beautiful analogy. I am loving the dream-like interlude of time here. <3

The openness of children is to happily imagine anything and everything - for today, for tomorrow, for beyond. What your poetry project demonstrates - though it seems you struggle quite understandably many days - is wanting to imagine today, tomorrow and beyond with the imagination of all things, any things, that will unfold. The reality, as children learn and as we non-children have learned, the future days will be a spectrum of joys and pains, of taking in fantastic experiences and getting through difficult ones ....

I think Mark, that is why being here feels so -dream-like, and why I am savouring it so deeply, storing each moment in my memory-banks to remind me that — it really isn’t all that complicated when I stop seeking to see the future and fall instead into the sea of love that is constantly flowing all around and within me. <3
